Knowsley Community College, has established a top-to-toe approach to workforce development by making available every area of the college expertise to assist local companies with their skills shortage. In effect, each company, small or large can use us as their personal training department with over 600 experts in all areas of commerce and business.Case Study
Knowsley Community College was asked by Royal Bank of Scotland to design a qualification based upon the company training programme for 10,000 employees across the UK. The college worked with the Financial Sector Skills Council, an Award Body and all operational areas of the bank to deliver a fit for purpose qualification which is transferable across the whole financial sector.
Benefits to the company:
- Increase the flexibility of staff by enabling them to perform a wider range of roles following training
- Provide a qualification framework to give structure and progression for staff development which led to a reduction in staff turnover
- The qualification is flexible; learners achieve seven units
from nine to gain the award allowing them to focus on their key
development needs
- Evidence collected for assessment uses company policies minimising the time spent by the employees on the qualification
